Kingfisher Montessori Nursery School is a small and friendly pre-school for 22 children near Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. At Kingfisher we are committed to helping every child to fulfil his or her potential within a safe, caring and stimulating environment. We cater for children under the age of two up to the age of five, in designated rooms.

We believe passionately that children should be allowed to blossom and flourish within a warm, nurturing and inspiring atmosphere created by dedicated Montessori teachers. Children come to us from Redbourn, Dunstable, Berkhamsted, Tring, Harpenden and other parts of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.

"We thought the school was absolutely fabulous and were so impressed with your staff, classrooms and the ethic that you are instilling in the children. It is obvious to see that much is learnt in such a happy environment and why that is".

Our aims

To guide your child along an individual path of learning and discovery
To prepare him or her socially and academically for Reception and to give advice on suitable schools if requested
To work closely with parents in order to know each individual child as fully as possible
To promote the physical, intellectual, social and emotional development of your child – in other words, the whole child
To run a happy, safe and inspiring school where all can grow and flourish.

Our first OFSTED inspection took place in 2009 and we were found to be "Good". The inspector stressed that this is exceptional for a first inspection, and found that "...children are motivated, have a positive attitude to learning and are making good progress...have regular opportunities to express themselves creatively".
