Our Team

Joint principals Camilla Bruce and Ruth Good have a combined teaching experience of 30 years gained in both mainstream and Montessori settings in the UK, Zimbabwe (Camilla) and the USA (Ruth). They have extensive experience across a wide age range and are devoted to the Montessori approach to early years education.

Camilla was Head of Kindergarten/Deputy Head in a Montessori setting for four years. For two years before this she ran a class of 30 two-year-olds. She has worked with orphaned and street children in Zimbabwe, counselling and supporting the educational and emotional needs of children aged from babies to teenagers. She has also run sports programmes for 7-12 year-olds. Camilla holds Montessori Diplomas for the 0-3 and 3-6 year age ranges, and has tutored Montessori students who are completing their 0-3 Diploma. She also reached the shortlist for the Montessorian of the Year award for 2007.

Ruth worked with the 2-6 age group in various London Montessori schools and with under twos in a day care setting in the US. Since returning to the UK in 1990 Ruth has taught 2-8 year-olds in nursery and preparatory schools, both Montessori and mainstream, including as Deputy Head in a Montessori setting. Ruth holds Montessori Diplomas for the 0-6 and 6-12 year age ranges, a BA (Hons) in English from London University and has achieved Early Years Professional Status (EYPS), a government-recognised qualification for graduate practitioners. She has 15 years’ experience as worldwide tutor and examiner for Montessori Centre International. Ruth is currently involved with the Montessori Schools Association as workshop tutor, helping Montessori Schools around the UK with their staff training.
